This policy applies to all users of Filmster Network services, including Filmster.ID, Filmster Studio, Reel Sense, and licensed or white-labelled offerings provided to studios, educational institutions, or third parties.
Unless explicitly stated, access to Filmster Network does not require payment.
2. Free Services
2.1 Filmster.ID
Filmster.ID is completely free to use.
- No account creation fees
- No subscription fees
- No commissions
- No hidden charges
Filmster.ID functions as an identity, discovery, and collaboration layer. Filmster Network does not monetise Filmster.ID user profiles, connections, or basic usage.
2.2 Filmster Studio (Base Platform Access)
Filmster Studio is free to access and use for:
- Project creation and management
- Collaboration between cast and crew
- Uploading and managing project details
- Communication and planning tools
There are no subscription fees for using Filmster Studio itself.
3. Commission-Based Monetisation
3.1 Crew Payments via Filmster Studio
Filmster Network charges a commission only when payments to crew members are executed through the platform and only under specific circumstances.
A commission applies when:
Crew payments are made using funds sourced through crowdfunding campaigns facilitated or integrated via Filmster Studio.
A commission does not apply when:
- Payments are made using privately sourced funds
- Payments occur outside Filmster Network infrastructure
- Filmster Studio is used purely for coordination, planning, or collaboration
The commission rate, calculation method, and payment flow will be clearly disclosed at the point of transaction.
3.2 Transparency of Commissions
- All applicable commissions are displayed before payment confirmation
- No retrospective or hidden fees are applied
- Commission invoices and transaction records are accessible to authorised users
Filmster Network acts solely as a facilitation layer and does not assume responsibility for contractual obligations between producers and crew.
4. Licensed Products and Paid Offerings
4.1 Reel Sense Licensing
Reel Sense is a licensed analytical and insight product.
Reel Sense is not sold to individual users.
It is licensed to:
- Film studios
- Production houses
- Media companies
Licensing terms may include:
- Fixed-term licences
- Usage-based licences
- Enterprise agreements
Pricing, scope, and duration are governed by a separate Reel Sense Policy executed between Filmster Network and the licensee.
4.2 White-Labelled Learning Experience Platform
A white-labelled version of Filmster Studio is licensed to:
- Film schools
- Media institutions
- Universities
- Training academies
This offering may include:
- Custom branding
- Curriculum-aligned learning flows
- Restricted or sandboxed production environments
- Administrative and reporting tools
Licensing is structured under institutional agreements and may be:
- Annual
- Multi-year
- Per-cohort or per-seat
Pricing and terms are governed by a separate Institutional Licensing Agreement.
5. Payments, Invoicing, and Processing
5.1 Payment Processing
Where payments are applicable:
- Transactions are processed through authorised third-party payment providers
- Filmster Network does not store full payment card details
- Payment providers may apply their own terms and conditions
5.2 Invoicing
Invoices are issued digitally where applicable.
Commission invoices and licence invoices clearly state:
- Amount charged
- Applicable taxes
- Purpose of charge
- Date and reference number
Crew invoices are automatically generated when a smart contract is opened during crew sourcing.
5.3 Taxes
All fees are exclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
Users and licensees are responsible for:
- GST, VAT, or sales taxes
- Withholding taxes
- Any jurisdiction-specific levies
Filmster Network will comply with applicable tax regulations in jurisdictions where it operates.
6. Refunds and Cancellations
6.1 Free Services
No refunds apply to free services.
6.2 Commissions
- Commissions are non-refundable once a payment to crew has been successfully processed
- Failed or reversed transactions will not incur commission
6.3 Licences
Refund and cancellation terms for Reel Sense and white-labelled platforms are governed by the applicable licence agreement.
7. Changes to Pricing and Monetisation
Filmster Network may introduce new paid features or modify existing pricing structures.
- Any changes will be communicated in advance
- Existing licence agreements will not be altered retroactively
- Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of updated pricing where applicable
8. No Financial Intermediation
Filmster Network is not a bank, escrow agent, or financial institution.
- We facilitate payments where applicable
- We do not guarantee payment completion between parties
- Contractual obligations remain between the paying and receiving parties
